Fun fact: Today is one of our favorite days of the year. Before you say, “Hey, the anniversary of the premiere of the 1979 comedy The Jerk isn’t for another two weeks,” we’ll spare you the research and just tell you it’s Giving Tuesday. And while it certainly isn’t the only day you can give back, it’s a nice 24 hours that the people who decide the names of days have dedicated to showing gratitude towards others and paying it forward. Sounds pretty delightful if you ask us. So whether it’s giving your time and thought, or the crumpled twenty dollar bill you found in last year’s winter coat pocket, here are a few humans and organizations whom we deeply admire for their commitment to spreading light and joy and whom you might consider giving back to this Tuesday:
Wishing everyone and Steve Martin a day of gratitude and giving back. Thanks for being here.

“Leaving and Waving”
Over 27 years, from 1991 until 2017, Deanna Dikeman photographed goodbyes with her parents. We have no idea how many photos she took during this period but seems like a fair amount. Check out Deanna’s work here. And remember to tell the people you love that you love ’em. Thank you, Deanna, for the reminder.
