A man named Billy Joel once had a hit Broadway musical about all of his classic tunes weaved into a clever story, it was called Movin' Out and ran on Broadway 20 or so years ago. The story of the award-winning musical centered around the idea of "Mamma, if that's movin' up. Then I'm movin' out.” The gang who puts together this almost-daily newsletter has never produced a critically acclaimed Broadway musical but we have taken inspiration from Mr. Joel's sentiment and we're taking this newsletter and moving it over to Substack. The good news is you don’t need to do anything, we’ll handle taping up the boxes and hiring the movers, you just keep enjoying this almost-daily newsletter and then one day, maybe even today, it will look a little better but sound the same. If you might like to add theafternoondelight@substack.com to your contact list you can make sure we don’t end up in a cold, damp spam folder where they eat newsletters like us for lunch. Also, Billy Joel's last Madison Square Garden show is July 25th and if anyone has an extra ticket we'll bring the flask. And there's also a new Roberta's location that opened up next door. Vienna waits for you.
