THURSDAY | 3.5.26
Good afternoon, you beautiful, well-rested human. Or not-so-well-rested human. Either way, you’re awake now, and that’s what matters. No inception, but we’re almost bedside table ready. The Sleep Issue of The Flow Trip is heading to print. This one’s a love letter to the things that happen when you’re immobilized for several hours with your eyes closed each day — the science, the dreams, the worry dolls, the well-being, the sheep. Especially the sheep. We went deep on sheep. Like, REM-cycle deep. And the whole thing pairs nicely with your noise machine and that hoodie you refuse to wash because it’s finally at peak softness. The Sleep Issue, in partnership with our friends from Oura. They know a lot about sleep. Coming soon to your doorstep… and nightstand.
A good playlist to fall asleep to and then wake up wondering why your phone is under the couch. “Short A Couple Million.” Sweet dreams, gang.
Your Dog Dreams About You
Harvard psychologist, Dr. Deirdre Barrett, studied canine sleep behavior and concluded that they replay their day during REM sleep. And since most of a dog’s day revolves around their human, that means… we don’t deserve dogs.
What Is a Worry Doll?
Oh, here’s the answer. Worry dolls are tiny, hand-crafted dolls from the highlands of Guatemala. Before bed, you whisper your worries to the doll, tuck it under your pillow, and by morning, the doll has done all the worrying for you. More to know about Guatemala here.
Sleep Somewhere Good
Speaking of a good night’s sleep — if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to fall asleep in a place that was actually designed for it, come catch some ZZZs at Flow Fort Lauderdale and Flow Miami.
