Bullseyeing wombats ☀️
TUESDAY | 11.4.25

Long after Luke was bullseyeing wombats on Tatooine, humans created the first planetarium. The year was 1923, and somewhere deep in Europe, a star simulator flicked on. Over 100 years later, there’s still something very unifying about walking into one of those oversized auditoriums — hundreds of us, necks tilted, pretending we’re infinite together. Maybe that’s the real magic: realizing we’re all just recycled stardust humming the same old song (Fleetwood Mac, probably). If you couldn’t tell, we wrote this edition of Afternoon Delight from inside a planetarium in Miami with the help of several hundred friends who also believe that being together is better. Rebellions were built on hope.

Maybe you know a software engineer whose favorite movie is Smart House and whose life mission is to creatively change the face of “smart” buildings. Bonus if they can make a mean olive martini. Send them our way.
The Land of Giants
Lots of reasons to head across the big blue to Iceland — saunas, whales, volcanoes, hard-to-pronounce city names. But power lines that look like humans dancing in the fields might just top the list.
America’s Newest Best Idea
Our friend Charles invites you to take an unexpected trip to West Virginia, which also happens to be the location of America’s newest national park.
