Dear Mother Earth,
Today is all about you. Full disclosure, we’re not really sure exactly when your real birthday is. Supposedly you were born some 4.5 billion years ago. But you don’t look a day over 3 million, lady. We humans who call you home have decided that a spring day in April is ideal for celebrating your existence and hard work. Maybe we’re not the greatest at expressing it all the time, but we appreciate you and all that you do to sustain us more than you know. From the air we breathe to the water we drink, to playing the gracious landlord for all of the plants, animals, human beings, and virtually every other thing that we’ve ever known and loved. And even though you’re a celestial body with no eyes or ears, we hope you feel that appreciation today and every day during this year’s trip around the sun. Cheers to you, Mother.
