Every year a person loses 15 socks, give or take a few depending on their laundering habits. That’s 1,264 socks lost in a lifetime and *beep bop boop beep* about 101 million socks that the readers of this almost-daily newsletter have collectively misplaced. Some left in hotel rooms, others eaten as a snack by the yellow dog, and a good amount likely stolen by the monster living in the walls of your local laundromat whose feet get cold in the middle of the night. Lots of possibilities for where these things end up. It’s highly likely that the Egyptians who came up with these foot blankets are watching the modern-day sock dilemma from the comfort of their tombs and shaking their heads as we type. But just because we lose ‘em doesn’t mean we aren’t huge fans of their invention. The gang has put a lot of time, care, and thought into creating an entire line of socks with our friends at Arvin Goods that we like to think those old mummies would be pretty impressed with. High quality, soft socks made from recycled materials to keep your toes warm. And since you’re pretty much guaranteed to lose about 15 by this time next year, we might recommend getting a few before the yellow dog gets her paws on them. Available here. Lucky Numbers
One might say we’re experts by now at buying lotto tickets. Not so much at cashing them in. Apparently you have to win to do that. But if letting someone steal our credit card and promising to split the winnings of the lotto ticket they bought with it is what it takes for the universe to call our lucky number, our pockets are open.

The folks over at Atlantic Records have had a good thing going for the past 75 years. No surprises, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Coldplay had something to do with it. Thank you for the music, friends.
Enjoying a Cold One
A record the gang has wanted to break for a while. But the humans at the World Records office emailed back and kindly informed us that our photos of 2,461 people “enjoying a cold one” were great, but this polar plunge is more along the lines of what they were looking for. Everyone’s a critic.
