39 years ago a person named Sally Ride had a friend and co-worker named Kathryn Sullivan. One day while at work Sally watched Kathryn go on a 3.5-hour stroll in outer space. Perks of working for NASA, we guess. That day Sally’s co-worker became the first American woman to take a walk in space. Later that night, and we’re making this part completely up, Sally tried to offer Kathryn a cold one to congratulate her on her achievement but came to find out that NASA does not allow alcoholic beverages on their rides. Years later Kathryn made a trip to the deepest part of the ocean and we like to think Sally was there waiting at the bottom with two cold ones. Regardless of what you’re offering, cheers to all the helpers and co-workers this week who looked out for someone through storms and northern lights and deadlines and life. Sally and Kathryn style on a Friday.
