The magicians are a secretive bunch. Which makes sense when your whole income depends on performing tricks that appear to be something they aren’t. The dude who pulled a rabbit out of a hat at your 8th birthday party would probably agree. That person would also attest to the fact that learning magic is hard, because 1) most folks don’t want to get into a box that’s about to be cut in half, and 2) because the majority of the special how-to books and doodads are locked up in a big ole magic vault deep in the Earth. Well, not actually, but they do tend to be privately owned, which makes it pretty hard for a person to become the next Harry Houdini, and the whole rabbit-out-of-a-hat trick a lot more impressive. The Magic Collectors' Association has tried to gather some resources, but even they haven’t completely figured out the magic of it all. So if you’re reading this and have been putting off your lifelong dream of becoming a magician, you have your work cut out for you, but better late than never. And if you happen to learn a trick for getting a magazine to the printer on time and transporting Lisa from the printer to a beachfront property stocked with all of her favorite frozen drinks for a whole week, that’d be pretty nice.
The Best Pups in the Lineup
A few furry friends hit Huntington Beach to shred some waves at the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge surf contest. Hopefully the locals didn’t mark their territory too much. Hang eight.
Journey to the Center of the Universe
The secrets of the universe are about to be unveiled thanks to the new images captured by the world’s largest camera and the folks over at the Vera C. Rubin Observatory. Take a peek at the cosmos like it’s never been seen before.
The Right Key
Maybe it’s the rhythm of all those keys clacking, but it seems like musicians just can’t get enough of the Internet. David Bowie created his own server, and now apparently the Grateful Dead built the whole pixel palace.
