True story. Once upon a time, a human we know and love, named Sylvia was enjoying the peace and quiet of her home when she noticed a turtle pass through her backyard. Being the nature lover that she is, Sylvia hurried outside to take a picture of the big guy. Satisfied with the turtle photos she had taken, she headed back indoors. As the story goes on, a few moments later, she notices something through the window moving faster than usual through the grass outside. This old big guy was on the move and the opportunity to capture what she referenced as "the world's fastest turtle" was her new aim. Sylvia bolted back outside. But in her excitement, poor Sylvia slipped and fell into her pool fully clothed, phone and all. In her new soaking-wet embarrassment, a yellowjacket proceeded to sting her. Anyway, the moral of the story is there is an 'Animal' category in the upcoming Flow Photo Contest and $50,000 in cash prizes, but you're going to need proof the animal exists to enter. The Flow Photo Contest coming in April. Five categories, big cash prizes, world-class panel of judges and possibly a speedy turtle.
The case for more museums.
A New Feather
Scientists in Antarctica have turned over a new feather in bird research, uncovering potentially the oldest modern bird ever discovered. Not sure where this leaves the birds aren’t real movement, but we’ll leave that to the experts on both sides.
