At the top of this week, the gang who puts this almost-daily newsletter together said, “Okay we’ve hit the Olympics pretty hard over the past few weeks, maybe we skip them for just the next one.” And then human-we-admire and frequent contributor, Morgan Maassen had to hit us with an image he took at the Olympics yesterday that we wouldn’t believe — but it's Morgan. And then somehow this picture that we really couldn't believe from Jerome Brouillet — so the Olympic delights persist. Conditions aren’t cooperating today for the final day of surfing but we recently found out about this thing called the Gold Zone and it’s pretty much like the NFL Red Zone but for the Olympics. Productivity low. Morale high. In the water on a Tuesday.
Where do the surfers stay if not the village? It's more like a floating village.
