Look, we never thought we'd be judged harder than when we wore the black and white striped shirt to the zoo on our fifth-grade field trip, but it happened, and there's not an African safari joke we can't own. We thought those feelings of being who we are not and caring what anyone thought went away on the bus ride home that day, but then last week Spotify came in like a wrecking ball, and now we're back to calling ourselves Madagascar Marty. We're great at making quality magazines, questionably great toe-tapping playlists, and limited-edition, zero-plastic, super soft newly designed hoodies, but more on that later this week. No shame in being who you are. Here's what showed up on our 2024 Music Year in Review:
"Waters of March" by Art Garfunkel
“Hasta la Raiz” by Natalia Lafourcade
“Everything is Romantic” by Charlie xcx
"If We Said Goodbye" by Flatland Calvary
“Easy Easy” by King Krule
“Teenage Dirtbag” by Wheatus
"Down Bad" by Taylor Swift
“Sweet Talkin’ Woman” by Electric Light Orchestra
"Common People" William Shatner

Rocks With Wings
Not too long ago, scientists thought they found Amelia Earhart’s plane wreckage, a mystery. Well turns out it was just a very uncanny pile of airplane-shaped rocks. But hey, for what it’s worth, they had us convinced. Alas, the search continues.
The Year of the Doppelgänger
Seems like the universe is playing tricks on us more than usual this year in the forms of second selves and lookalikes. Looks like your chances of finding an identical stranger to sub in for you at Aunt Sharon’s annual ugly Christmas sweater party are decently high.
